Review - sharing some amusing thoughts over a book...

Recently happened to lay hands on a book by Bill Bryson, and felt those were the observations akin to any foreigner visiting , rather re- and re-visiting Britain after a not very distant past.
The book titled ' Notes from a SMALL ISLAND, begins with a funny-looking note just below the 'copy-right'--" conditions for sale "------ This book book is sold subject to the condition that it shall not, by way of trade or otherwise, be lent, re-sold, hired out or otherwise circulated in any form of binding or cover other than that in which it is published and without a similar condition including this condition being imposed on the subsequent purchaser !!!

That explained the dilapidated condition of the book freshly borrowed from an esteemed library !

( By the way, remembered another catchy phrase written on my Professor's books--' don't lend your books to others, My liabrary consists of books Borrowed from Others !! )

Back to Mr.Bryson, a book, shall I call it satire, humour, nostalgia, traveller's nightmares, reminiscences, self-evaluation, pointed referances or just casual observations ? Or a combination of all these into one ?
Would like to see your comments , if you happened to have gone through the same book, or intend to.

Bye,

Comments:
Look forward to your comments on the US & Australia trips of Mr.Bryson as well...

You might enjoy Jerome K.Jerome's book - "Three men in a Boat" - it is a similarly funny travelogue of 3 friends. Guess we have a DVD for the same at home - lets watch it during this long week-end!

Ability to appreciate satire is a gift too...thanks for the inheritance...!!
